Heilsa,
The 3rd day of July being the 11th day from the official beginning of
summer lived up to the name of being within this time period. The day
was bright with sunny skies with humidity in the air for all to feel.
Once, again people paced themselves, brought out water and gatorade,
went out and fought, came back off the field and cooled down and
replenished their fluids with water and/or gatorade, etc.
A wide range of combat skills were on display and employed by the
combatants for the enjoyment of both those in armor, those watching from
the shade pavilions or from the park and even from the dragons that
transverse their way along the stone pathway of commerce. The different
skills involved and demonstrated were the following:
Sword and shield (Buckler, Heater, Round and War)
Spear - both rattan and fiberglass
Schlager and Dagger
Del Tin and Dagger
Schlager and Buckler
Combat Archery: Recurve and Crossbow
A restricted area marked with color rope with a center piece to
represent the contested area stood upon the field waiting for the few
and the brave to venture forth to test their mettle against one another
and day itself. The area marked off was 75 feet long and 25 feet wide.
The set-up for this field was done by Lord CinaedOHosey and his three
children - Tori, Jon and Nikko.
The purpose of the restricted field is provided to an accurate
evaluation of fighters as oppose to the true chaos of an open field,
while still allowing movement as oppose to a bridge or gate scenario.
This enables both commanders and fighters to get a feel on how to work
as a unit, the ability to see the manner in which tactics decided upon
prior to laying on actually accomplish or failed to accomplish the
objective of the various battle scenarios.
Weapons employed this day:

Spear - both rattan and fiberglass

(Thank You, Master Robin for supplying this information on the weapons
being used this day and by whom)
The main Heavy scenario was to hold the center for as long as possible
and it was a resurrection battle all day long. The sub scenarios either
