Nah! Lets go for it, in whatever incarnation it comes in. Once the
paperwork is turned in and the group is radified at the campus, this will
no longer be an issue. And its not carved in stone. If they have to
change their name or constitution in the future.. so be it. Its not like
they are filing incorporation papers or something... its a student
organization that come and go.

If this UH practice does not work out, then we go back to the Memorial park
location, and Loch goes back to their park. If it does work out, then it
works out. If we gain some new student members from it, whether they
recreate Twr Cath or not, then great. If they decide not to bother with
Twr Cath, but rather just join up the the branch of choice, great... but we
will have gained some new 'younger' members, which seems to be a big issue
these days. And I thought that was *one* of the objectives of moving back
onto campus.

I think we are getting too bogged down in semantics on the charter, and I
don't believe the University will be that critical or concerned, unless we
give them cause to be. I think they just want to make sure the student
groups have thought out their reasons for existing, make them serious about
it by filling out forms, and make sure UH is not fostering any subversive
organizations. Plus, any student group can petition the UH for money for
their activities, and UH has to be responsible for those funds. And if
they do have problems with the Charter, as Meliora has written it, they
will send it back and make her do it again.

I had my doubts about the use of the title of the group using the name
'SCA' in it, due to insurance issues, which is a bad thing,.... but also
felt the having the name would create instant association, which would also
be a good thing. I believe Meliora has done a fine job putting this all
together, with the name she has, and should just submit the papers and be
done with it... wait to see what UH says.

As to the timing (from one who has been there, and made massive
reservations for Twr Cath in the early days) I would expect at least two
weeks for the approval, the papers to be on file at the Student
Organization office, and the copies sent to the reservations office, before
Meliora can set up a meeting time. I doubt she will have to 'reserve' the
park area, but just advise the student organization and the campus security
when and where they plan to hold activities. I do think that she should
check in with the campus police once the paperwork is approved, and just
let them know what we are doing.. but sounds like Adela has already set the
groundwork for that. If necessary, Meliora may need to provide them with
the marshalate handbook, so they are aware the fighters will be following a
strick code of conduct and safety.. but don't think they will really want
that, but they may be at ease just seeing she has one.

So good luck... be done with it... If Meliora has already turned in the
paperwork, wait and see. ... if not and she *wants* to incorporate the
changes that Adela suggest, then do so and turn it in.. Its not that big a
deal. Many of the campus groups do not always confirm strictly to their
charters. Go for it!

I would rather see this process started over, than
create a situation in which Twr Cath's chances of being reactivated are
called
into question. Perhaps it is in everyone's best interest if we look
elsewhere. I
move that we do so. Do I hear a second!
