The members of the Chirurgeonate provide first aid service on a volunteer basis at SCa events.
The chirurgeon has the minimum acceptable first aid certifications Standard first aid certification issued by the American Red Cross. Other first aid certification includes
Advanced first Aid ( American Red Cross, Wilderness First Aid ( American Red Cross) Senior First Aid (St. John's Priory Of South Australia and Medic First Aid (EMP
America).

Required is CPR as WEll!

Some Acceptable Alternatives to first - aid certification includes licenses as MD's, RN'S, LPN's, certifications as EMT's ERT's etc.....

All applying to become a warranted Chirurgeons will need to go through the apprenticeship time period. The purpose of apprenticeships is to evaluate the first aid skills of
the apprentice chirurgeons and to teach them the policies and the procedures of the Chirurgeonate.

In order to become a apprentice Chirurgeon a candidate must apply to the appropriate warranting officer in writing. The forms can be taken off the Ansteorra's web site, if
you cannot find them let me know and I will help you with this. 

In applying please include the following:
1. a statement of desire from the candidate to become a chirurgeon
2. a proof of current first aid certification or acceptable equivalent
3. the name and sca name of the candidate, as well as the address, and telephone number
4. Only a dully recognized warrenting officer may accept a candidate as an apprentice chirurgeon
