Lots of stuff going on this weekend in the Houston area of interest to the
SCA gang!

Stuff you are probably already aware of:
1. Newcastle Faire - renaissance festival
2. Demo at Lutheran school in the Spring Branch area on Saturday morning,
10-12.
Check with Lady Suannoch nighean mhic Choinnich, Hospitaler, Canton
of Westgate
aka Heather Jones 281-395-2265 or e-mail : Heather Jones
<hjones at sugar-land.oilfield.slb.com>

3. Delphina mentioned a demo in Sugarland, check with Delphina for info.

other stuff you may not know about:

4. Forbidden City Chinese Exhibit at the Museum of Natural Science.
Its $12 for adults, but has a vast array of paintings of the emperors, the
throne room, lots of 'killer' embroidered silk garments for the royal
families, a bit of jewelry, and historical calculators and clocks, some
armory. Nice exhibit. (just wait for the Viking exhibit, starting in
June!)

5. Friends of the Library are holding their annual 'Book Sale' at the
George R. Brown on Sat. (9-5), and Sun (12-4). Its free to get in, best to
take a cart to carry all your books around with you, as you shop. If you
have never been, there are tables and tables, rows and rows of donated and
used books, paperbacks, and kids books. Some years you find lots, some
years its slim pickings... but its free to get in.

6. International Gem and Mineral Show - Astroarena $5 to park, $5 or 6
to get in. Some of its import junk, some is high prices quality jewelry,
there is a jewelry tools supplier, some raw materials, lots of beads, and
lots of 'largess' type items available to purchase. Check out their
website at www.intergem.com, there may be a discount coupon available to
print out.

Anything I have missed? Check it out!
Hillary
