I agree, Mea. It makes you wonder about "the rest of the story". One 
possibility is that there's more to it than that, some other factors 
(that may or may not have anything to do with Iolo) that motivated the 
Coopers to alienate a merchant of such long standing at their event, 
and who is so widely known and respected among their patrons.

Another possibility is that it just doesn't make sense. Sadly, people 
in business often due ridiculous things for no good reason, to the 
detriment of their business.
