Just a quick note, if someone organizes a volunteer activity (food, donations of clothing, fun,
etc.), make sure they get cleared with one of the 'authorized' volunteer coordination groups, such
as this organization Jessica posted above.  Some Houstonian's showed up last night to volunteer
and offer food at the Astrodome and were turn away because they were not pre-cleared to assist
with volunteering.   

Plan ahead and get setup with the right agencies, to make sure your gifts of time, food and
donations will actually make a difference.
