[Coastal] Youth Boffer Practice - Tuesday at UH Practice

Once again, it is the 4th Tuesday of the month!  Youth warriors, come out and fight!

We practice alongside the adult warriors at the University of Houston, Gate 13 park, from about 7-9pm.

NOTE FOR JUNE/JULY PRACTICES AT THE BOTTOM OF THIS MESSAGE - WEAPONS INSPECTIONS!!

NOTE FOR ADULT FIGHTERS: We just had a weapons-making class, and our youth are eager to try out some new, "shapely" weapons.  Are there any adult fighters willing to teach youth how to handle an axe, glaive, 2-handed sword, etc?

YOUTH: You must bring a parent/guardian, athletic protection (a cup for boys, a sock or female groin plate for girls), and wear long sleeves, long trousers and sturdy closed-toe, closed-heel shoes (sneakers are fine).  I will bring loaner armor.

To participate on the field you must:
1. Control your Temper
2. Call your Blows
3. Behave in a Courteous and Chivalric Manner
4. Listen to the Marshal

WEAPONS INSPECTION:
Once a year, the youth are to disassemble their weapons to check for damage. 
We are offering weapons inspections on any weapons that are over a year old.  

This entails slicing open the duct tape, replacing any worn-down foam, and inspecting the interior structure for damage.  Bring duct tape and new foam, and we will help you put them back together.

Since these are the hottest months of the year, this can be used as an excuse to take a break, swap "war" stories, and do unarmored/lightly armored slow work.
