[Coastal] Dale & Katharyn update

We still have no power, phone, water or septic.

Sneaking into a friend's house to make calls, shower, and check e-mail now that he has power!? Critters are all still fine - horses have been playing "moose" - grazing in the water-soaked areas and drinking from the grassy puddles.? So I still have an untouched 300-gallon tank of water!



This is sort of like camping - cooking over propane, trying to stay cool, wandering about by flashlight, not sure when you'll be really clean again, questionable port-o-potty.......only I get to sleep in a real bed with a real roof! (The port-o-potty is really our bathroom - we've been flushing with buckets of water from the filled bathtub, but that will only work until the septic tank is full - no power for it to pump itself out!)

I'm extremely proud of our chest freezer!? I had it rather full of meat, and when I finally opened it yesterday to cook some - the ground beef on top was still frozen!

If anyone needs firewood - we've got plenty to share! We'll lend you the chainsaw!

I'll be in to check e-mail and voice mail at least once per day, but until we've got phone back (electric would be nice too - Oh, how I long to be awakened by the flashing of the digital clock!) don't expect a fast response.
