Voyages of the Dragons from the North

Terrorizing coastlines, dominating rivers and exploring the oceans,
the Vikings achieved remarkable feats in open ships with a single sail
and a few oars. Dramatic finds, along with the reconstruction and
ocean trials of Viking ships, prove the skill of these seafaring
adventurers who ranged from Constantinople to Newfoundland. Sail with
us as we recreate their journeys.

Louise Kæmpe Henriksen is curator at the The Viking Ship Museum in
Roskilde, Denmark, the foremost Viking ship museum in Denmark.
Henriksen was a member of the crew of the Seastallion, a replica of a
Viking ship found at Roskilde Fjord. The crew embarked on a six-week
journey to Dublin, Ireland from their home port of Roskilde, Denmark
during the summer of 2008.
