Greetings!

It came to our attention that some folk might be traveling to BYOD on
Saturday morning, November 9 or Sunday morning, November 10. This might
coincide with the Texas Renaissance Fair traffic which would cause hour
long delays in your travel if you take StHwy 249 north out of Tomball and
through Magnolia to take 1774 up past the TRF site on your way to Anderson
to hit 90.

But WAIT! There are alternative routes!

1st Alternative-Take 249 north but then turn onto 149 north out of
Pinehurst. 149 goes through the Sam Houston National Forest and while a bit
windy, it will meet Hwy 90 just to the east of Anderson. Then you can
travel the rest of the way using the directions given on the website, Black
Star and Event Page on FB.

2nd Alternative-Take 290 and pick up 6 in Hempstead. In Navasota, turn East
on 90 and just follow the rest of the directions to the site.

So if you are using your GPS system and it wants to take you through
Magnolia on Saturday or Sunday morning, these are alternate routes to take
if you are on the West side of Houston and would normally travel up 249.

Travel up or down I45 to Hwy 30 exit should not be affected.

As to the weather, the 10 day forecast for the area has (at the moment) a
rainy Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday but 0% chance of rain for Thursday,
Friday, Saturday or Sunday. Highs in the low 70's, lots of Sun and low's at
night in the 50's. Sounds beautiful. And for the stargazer's among us, the
site is remote from city lights and the stars are incredible.

With all the wet weather, there is no burn ban and there is plenty of
firewood on site. Please remember NOT to dig a firepit, but instead bring
an above ground brazier if possible.
