<div dir="ltr"><div>Christoforo and I are ok. The house took a bit of a hit due to tree limbs. We have a downed fence, 2 holes in the ceiling (which Mary thinks is neat since now that we have skylights...) and the electrical and phone connections were both pulled from the house.</div>

<br>We have power back as of shortly after 3PM. Power is flickering on<br>and off now put is mostly on. We are relatively comfortable as long<br>as power stays on.<br><br>Lots of big trees down. Big oak on the North end of the house clipped<br>
the house as it went down but there does not appear to be any<br>significant damage to the house. LOTS of other trees down out back.<br>Seems like several of them deliberately targeted the fences.<br><br>The house phone is dead as is the DSL connection and this cellular<br>
internet connection is pitifully slow but we are all OK.<br><br>I have spoken to Engenulf, Talmon, Frederic, and Iaen and all are<br>safe and the only major problems is trees down and lack of power.<br>Padraic of Kilkenney has some pretty significant roof damage that has<br>

people in the right direction. Please remember that what you see and hear on<br>the news is the sensational and blown out of proportion aspects of the<br>storm. It is quite boring to report on the areas that are not severally<br>
damaged or impacted by the storm.<br><br><br><br> As we all know, there are many people in the SCA that are chomping at the<br>bit to help out those affected. To make sure that this is coordinated<br>correctly we have a coastal regional volunteer who will be coordinating<br>
proper direction of relief efforts. Sir Simonn and Mistress Tessa<br>(<a href="mailto:tessa@gt.rr.com">tessa@gt.rr.com</a>) originally started coordinating this for their local group<br>for Gustav and it sort of snowballed into a continuation for the entire<br>
region for Ike.<br><br><br><br> If you have any damage or know of someone that will need outside<br>assistance, please contact Sir Simonn and Mistress Tessa.<br><br> If you wish to help or get contacted by people trying to help, please<br>
direct them to Sir Simonn and Mistress Tessa.<br><br><br><br> In the end we want the right amount of assistance, in the right form, at<br>the right time.<br><br><br><br> A lot of what I've been hearing from those who stayed in the area is that<br>
damage is mostly in the form of power outages, down trees and damage to<br>outside yard items such as fences and an occasional window. I've not heard<br>of any major damage to houses or water damage inside of houses for our<br>
people, but not everyone has checked in.<br><br><br><br> Now that being said, there are a lot of our people who evacuated the high<br>risk areas near the coast or in low lying areas. These people will not know<br>the extent of damage to their property possibly for a couple more days. Some<br>
areas are being closed by the authorities, and even Houston is under a<br>nighttime curfew to assist in relief efforts and minimize opportunistic<br>activities.<br><br><br><br> If we find that the extent of damage is worse than initial reports, we<br>
