It seems a certain sheep by the name of Bessie is wanting a suitable mate.  Though she dearly loves her master and the little Scottish shepherd girl who takes care of her, she is looking for a nice ram to snuggle up with her in the darkest of nights.  She has therefore offered a nice sum of high quality wool to the mercenaries of her beloved new Canton to bring home a nice ram who will fill in the beautiful new cloaks she has made for herself and her potential new beau.

Lord Francen causing troubles once again, and to boot I heard a rumor that the mercenaries who live here were considering a foraging trip before winter too.  Something about the local Scot needing additional sheep dogs to work the flock since it has grown dramatically the past year or so.  That sudden increase in sheep a while back has caused the shepherds strain.
I of course dismissed that rumor as poppycock immediately and would never condone any illicit activities.  ?
