Greetings Elfsea,
Due to unseen events I will not be at moot this evening. I am sorry and wish that I could join you but.... well. Here goes.
Not much happened last month. Not really much is happening this month. First I would like to touch on just a couple things. If some one is injured during our fighting to the point of needing medical care, please contact me ASAP. I need to get that information to my boss and he to his. So you see how many hands a report of an accident on the field must pass through. It is important so that we can find ways of keeping people safe and alive for future things to happen.

Second just a few melee rules and thoughts of conduct. I had a run in with mis-judgement myself this past weekend along with a few others.

Never strike an opponent with out him seeing you or engaged with your line. I laid a man down with a shot I threw because I thought he saw me and he did not.

Do not grapple an opponent from the rear. You may lay your weapon across his but don't bear hug them, or their weapon, till they look at you or until a buddy of yours gets a clean shot. It is considered extremely unchivalrous.

Glauves, axes, maces, Great swords and so many more weapons are MASS WEAPONS. These such weapons (according to the rules) do not skip or glance. If one of theses strikes you in a melee, yes you don't have to call it but please remember the next time they throw it at you it may be twice as hard to get you to call it. That tends to hurt.

Spears are thrust weapons only, that is why we are allowed to have them made out of fiberglass shafts. A spear shot to the face is a touch kill. To the body is your judgment. I call them lighter than normal shots because those shafts don't bend well. If you feel the poke think about calling it before your opponant thinks about rocking you next.

Remember, this is a game, we're here to have fun, and kill each other (but not for real). Let's take steps, all of us, to make that happen.

Now on to things to come. Dec. 13th, the Sunday after Dft Yule Revel, is the last official fighter practice till January or February. On that day I will be holding a mini-tourney at Randol Mill Park.
The format for the tourney is a two hour bear pit.
Wounds will be retained.
You may not hold the field for more than three consecutive fights.
The prize will be a set of Morgan's gauntlets.

thank you for your time
Hengist Redhand
