My son, Anthony, is allergic to artificial colors.  Most of our friends 
understand this.  He gets even more hyper and emotional than usual and I 
have seen him break out in hives from eating M & Ms.  Benadryl (the clear 
kind) has to be administered right away.

I support the idea of giving little toys and gifts (Yeah, I know, more 
clutter around the house).  The other thing you can give the children is 
your time....Telling them stories, teaching them how to juggle, making them 
pouches and belts, trim for an outfit, etc.
