WANTED:  Dynamic, Service-Oriented Individual with a Commitment to 
Volunteerism to serve as PHR 2/3 VISTA.

opportunity to serve for one year on this new and exciting project!

Public Health Regions 2 & 3 and the Texas Volunteer Health Corps are 
collaborating on a pilot project to promote volunteerism in public 
health.  For one year, a VISTA (Volunteer in Service to America) will 
be serving the regions as Coordinator of Volunteers, under the 
supervision of Public Health Promotion Manager Lisa Fellers.  This 
VISTA will be working with programs to see how they can best utilize 
volunteers and interns, and will be recruiting and managing community 
volunteers.  This is a great opportunity for building yet another 
valuable partnership with the community. 

WHO WOULD BE A GREAT CANDIDATE FOR THE VISTA POSITION?
** someone with a commitment to community service and a desire 
     to involve diverse community members in volunteerism
** someone with an educational background in Social Science, 
     Communication, Personnel Management, Health Education or other 
     related fields
**someone with strong oral and written communication skills and basic 
    computer skills
**someone with reliable transportation
**someone who is motivated to have the experience of a lifetime in 
    America's domestic Peace Corps
