ES - Youth Boffer

Which gives us a chance to recruit the parent(s). That is
nearly the way in which I found the SCA. It is the way
in which I was recruited into leading Boy Scout units.
Yes, we are a family group and not a youth organization.
But the enthusiasm of kids is often the pull to get the
adults interested in a broader involvement in the SCA.

Along the same line: Please be aware that for youth rapier
(and I assume youth boffer) a parent or guardian *must*
be present at any official SCA event where the youth
fights. This includes fighter practices. Thus, a child
who sees the flyer at school can't just come to the
park and fence; his or her parents have to come too.
