You know, Crandall, as the "water of life" restored me from the dead, a wee drop might do wonders for you.

Seriously, a hot whiskey punch can make you feel a bit better:

Heat a glass by filling it with hot water, then empty it.  Refill it with boiling water and empty it.  Pour it half full with more boiling water, dissolve one or two teaspoons of sugar in the water, and add a generous amount of Irish whiskey.  Add to this a lemon slice or wedge studded with cloves (see, a practical use for cloved fruit).  Drink straightaway and repeat as necessary.
