Hey, I met Paul Halsall at Dumbarton Oaks when I went there last year.  He
was going to Florida to work at FSU, I think.  Nice guy, wrinkled his nose
when I mentioned the SCA.  He did reply to my e-mail, though, when I was
looking for a book on Paulician beliefs.

Great web pages, too.
