Well as long as your audience is willing to watch your performance I don't know
of any thing that would bar you from entertaining ant twelfth night. I don't
know about a topic for the wondering bardic, I haven't checked. However if you
are looking for new pieces that have a "period feel and flare" Rudyard Kipling
did some excellent work such as _Norman and Saxon_, _Dane Geld_, and many others
I have also performed pieces by Edgar Allen Poe and Oscar Wilde that fit in very
well with the environment and mood of our events.

Most people enjoy seeing performances at events, just use some common sense and
courtesy when choosing your audience. Typically a group of rapier fighters
aren't going to quit a conversation about DeGrassi to listen to part of a Norse
Saga, Likewise I would hardly expect a 13th century knightly persona to break
with activities and conversation for an Elizabethan Broadside. (of course there
are always exceptions)

As for Cheat Sheet 98% of people you perform for won't mind a bit. the other 2%
don't worry about. Your performance will typically be better if the piece is
memorized but a good reading is sometimes as enjoyable as a a polished
theatrical performance.

Most importantly have fun. If that means performing at events go for it!
