A very good question. That is why I am posting it to the list. You do not 
have to include the cost of patterns. Many of us spend a small fortune on 
books for reference and patterns to alter. I have some cloth patterns. Adding 
patterns can push our costs way over the top. Only the items that are 
included in the actual construction of the outfit must be added to the value 
of the entry.
