I have been doing one-person demos for several
years. They are extremely rewarding and lots of
fun. And yes, the thank-you letters are
wonderful!
Several packets of them are (were?) in the
historian's files. 
It is a wonderful way to maintain our status as a
research/teaching organization...

I would be delighted to teach anyone how to do
solo demos.
