There's the option of using heraldry that isn't
registered yet, as Timothy described. Design your
device, submit it, make a banner. We used to joke that
by the time it passed or failed, your first banner or
shield would be worn out anyway.

Otherwise, Allessandra's suggestion of using someone
else's registered heraldry (if you feel like making gifts
for someone you love), or use the branch's heraldry.
Elfsea and its Canton could all stand _even more_
heraldic stuff. Contact me privately for my wishlist, if
you're interested.

Or you can make yourself things using "public" heraldry,
such as the kingdom badge (a black star on a gold field
inside a black border) or the Elfsea city ensign (the
shell and embattled base counterchanged blue & white you
can so readily find on the website at <elfsea.org>). Any
one may tastefully display these badges. Likewise, the
cantons have badges you could use; Padraig fought in the
Gulf War carrying a shield with the Loch Ruadh badge on
it, as any Loch Ruadh fighter could do.

So thanks to you and everyone for your enthusiasm, I'm
very encouraged.
