I was unfortunate enough to be over in the neighborhood of I-20 and Matlock
(a little ways North) around 7:30-8:00 pm waiting in my car for a friend to
get home so we could have our Household meeting (which we ended up
canceling). His neighborhood lost power. And there was some small hail
hitting my car. (No damage, thank god). After deciding to cancel the
meeting, I decided to make a mad dash for Garland by taking I-20. Very BAD
IDEA! The freeway was shut down. I guess from that sign problem on 360.
Well that was the last straw that broke through my stress level. So there I
was stuck out on I-20 in my van with no escape route and tornados in the
area. Very scary! Thankfully Daniel (of Cameron) was able to help keep me
calm by talking to me on my cell phone and giving me a weather report of
where the storms were. THANK YOU DANIEL! I finally had a chance to get to
the shoulder of I-20 and take my chances by bailing across the muddy median,
and thankfully making it without getting stuck, to the frontage road. I
finally got home around 9 pm still somewhat shaky but safe and dry. It's
good to be home!
Thank you for letting me share my 'white-knuckle evening' story.
Layla
