ES - Royal Rounds for Score

Greetings all,
I've been investigating locations for Archery Practices with enough room for Royal Rounds and IKAC Scores.

Beyond the Rules for the Rounds shooting an IKAC has these Conditions:
"All competing archers are required to hold SCA Membership. Status may be confirmed with the Registry. The competition may be shot at any official Kingdom or local event (regular practice sessions which are periodically announced in the appropriate newsletter count as official events--otherwise, official events are all those announced in the appropriate Kingdom or local newsletter). Major events, such as Estrella War, or major local events, that are held before April 1, may be granted official scoring if requested well in advance in writing."

Also the Royal Round Rules currently state:
"Remember all qualifying scores must take place at an event that had been announced in advance in a SCA newsletter. Submissions should include the Event and Sponsoring group, Date, SCA and Mundane Name of the Archer, Archers Local Group, Division, and Score. Only one score, per day, per division, will count towards an archers average."

In English that translates to No event held in Elfsea before the December Newsletter is published can be considered shot for Official Score. It may actually be possible to interpret the Rules for IKAC to make a shoot for Score as long as we Start announcing Regular practices. We can certainly hold a practice in either format regardless simply for practice. I'm also a fan of the wand shoot using a single strip of Duct tape down the center of a target as the wand you have to hit.

Anyway, when I hear more from some of the local ranges that I think are capable of holding a shoot I'll let you all know. Otherwise I'm inclined to go to some of our members that have the space for it and at least beginning Practice Shoots.

You'll know when I know. (I'll do what I can to have information by moot.)

In Service,
     Wilim

Post Script: There is a movement in some smaller groups in the East to make mailing lists like this a supplement to the Newsletter and to let it qualify as being "published in advance" even if it's only been published to the List.
