I know this is early but you may have to start the process now. There are 
certified teachers who go to the hospitals and work with children while in 
recovery. Or there may be one on staff at the hospital. Then once she goes 
home they transfer the teaching to the home. Also she may qualify for OT and 
PT supplied by the district. But it is a long drawn out process just to get 
in. It took me 9 mons for each child of mine. And Emily was just for speech. 
So it may be something to start working on soon. I know this may be more than 
the family wants to do or it may be a good distraction while sitting in the 
waiting room.
