It has come to my attention that there is some
discussion in the Barony about the issue of using
golf carts at events. Please indulge me by
allowing me to address this:

I know that golf carts are expensive and very
unperiod. They cut into event funds and some
people find them offensive and feel they take
away from the event and ruin the ambience.

I love coordinating security at events. It is one
of the few things that I can still do, for health
reasons.

Without the use of a golf cart I would not be
able to run security, or steward events.  I would
also not be able to run errands for the stewards,
give injured/ill people rides, ferry my favorite
Baronesses and all their paraphernalia, nor
deliver the chirurgeons to the site of accidents
and injuries within minutes. I would not be able
to make sure that everyone has adequate warnings
of dangerous weather, and make sure everyone is
under cover. I also would not be able to enjoy
events. It is hard to enjoy things like that when
you are in continual pain.

I do all of these things at events, and more. I
enjoy them immensely. Please allow me to continue
to do so by providing the golf carts so I may
continue to steward events, and to run security.

If it offends your sense of ambience, I am sorry.
I cannot be there without it, and I very much
want to be there.
