ES - Deputy Needed

Howdy everybody, to mke a long story short, The "rules" say a person must be a
paid member to hold office. I am not sure exactly what they say about deputies
(or if deputies to local officers are even discussed in the "rules"), but I know
it is a good idea if they are also paid members. Basicaly, this stems from the
concept that A deputy may be called upon to assume the office in time of
emergency. As Herald I had several deputies, not all of them were paid members
when they signed on. As an Officer I wasn't about to tell some one they weren't
allowed to volunteer to help the Barony just because they didn't have a card. If
it is simply a matter of your card hasn't come in yet, don't sweat it, just get
a copy to the office you are helping when it comes in. Makes life easier for the
officer that way.
