I second HL Ceinwen's statement.

For those of you who have known me for awhile, know I couldn't sew a lick
when I joined the SCA (ask HL Tanwyn about the Martcia dress that it took
us - er uh, her - 3 garb workshops to alter....)

I think that by going to garb workshop, after garb workshop, after
garb workshop at HL Tanwyn's, it helped me learn alot about the SCA and
met many wonderful people. I wouldn't trade that experience for the
world.

So, my .02 cents worth is instead of giving them a free t-tunic, bring
them to a garb workshop instead.
