Yes, we are doing it. We need to get a list of people who want to
participate. We will then have a
planning meeting. We know approximately what we want to do and when we will
be asked to
do it. We need to set specific people and talk about who will do what when.
So far my list (and I know I have missed most of you) includes:
Ld Caelin
Sir Galen
HL Allessandra
Ld Wilim
Ldy Rebeka
We need about 20 people to do what we want and can use more, if avaliable.

Xene here:
this is a very old e-mail, but Feb. 23rd is coming up quickly. Has anyone
heard anymore about this? Was there a decision made?

This does sound like fun. Robin of Gilwell has a question he asks
Scouts at SCA demos:
How would you like to join an organization founded by a knight that
teaches what knighthood is really about? You already have. The Boy Scouts
was founded by Sir Robert Baden-Powell of Gilwell, who was knighted by more
countries than anyone else in history.

I have asked his Pack number and location, but have not yet received a
response.
They are likely to want us to do dancing, fighting, Bardic, and maybe a
bit of
display. The major restriction will be time. They will have awards to
give out, food
to serve, and probably a 2-2.5 hour limit. (I have done this many times
from the
other side of the table). If we wanted to, we could offer to run the
feast with
a mini middle ages feast also (though this increases the logistics
greatly).
The meal is typically either a pot luck supper or catered KFC, BBQ, or
Italian.
Giving out awards for 130 kids plus handling the Blue and Gold stuff
(the only banquet that Cub Scouts have is the February Blue and
Gold which celebrates the birth of Scouting) will about half the time
available.

I would like to go and I'm sure I can persuade Phelippe to come (we can
do rapier fighting or anything you need assistane with). I hope to have my
sewing area set up so I can *finally* start on my armour before then. ;-)
Where in Arlington does this troop meet? I think I might know Mr.
Cunningham.
Maria
I just received this message. I have replied that I will propose it to
the
meeting tonight.
Since I have been a Scout leader for 15 years, I have an inclination
toward
helping them,
but how do the rest of you feel (I'd feel pretty weird fighting myself
on
stage).

Judy Nesmith has led me to you to find out about arranging some people
to
possilbly give a performance at a Cub Scout Banquet in Arlington. The
theme
of the banquet is " Medival Time". The date is Feb. 23, 2001 a friday
evening. We normally will have about 130 kids and 130 adults at this
function.
Ideas we are looking for include: Knights fighting, strolling muscians,
comedy skits, magician, etc.
