I have used beeswax to harden leather for armor, namely the stuff I made
for Gabrielle. Very pretty, and it smells so good while you're working
on it!

I have used beeswax to lubricate thread when (hand) sewing heavy
materials like leather and canvas. Not only does it pull tight easier,
it also helps keep the thread from fraying when being pulled through the
dense materials.
