Lady Eleanor, I agree with much you have to say. I like Trinity because:
1. Central location, I have to believe that if the location were more westerly, we would get fighters that find it too far to come to Arlington.
2. The park itself. This is a large park that is well used but not crowded and has all the amenities we are looking for and has the capacity to host heavy, light and archery and good areas to set up for A&S demos and participation.
3. Demographics. As noted above, this is a busy park with a wide variety of people. I agree with the opinions expressed that recruiting is vital for the Barony.
I have only been to Bedford Boys Ranch once, a couple of years ago, but I seem to remember that it is kind of off the road and can't be seen unless you drive up to it. Please just inform me if I am wrong. Veterans park is an nice park, but again, the location. I really am not familiar with the other parks.

Has anyone thought about just what "I30 & 820" means?
It means REALLY bad area of town. I drive through
there to get to my parents' house and I drive with the
windows up and doors locked. I try not to stop,
either. Maybe those who are pushing for the I30/820
area should drive through there. They might rethink
their position.

Look, the whole point of doing this is to get new
blood into the barony. I think that we need to revisit
our purpose in the SCA and start recruiting. This
means that the Hospitaler NEEDS to be at EVERY fighter
practice. This means that the Rapier and Knights'
Marshalls NEED to be at EVERY fighter practice. We
need to start bringing out A&S to every fighter
practice.

Practices are like mini-demos that we do every week.
Perhaps we should look at it from that perspective.

And to respond to Lady Arabella's comment about
homeless people watching them and "cars lined up like
they're going to buy drugs": With all due respect, my
lady, think of it this way. Large men beating each
other with sticks. Willingly. I really don't think
we'll have a problem. :O)

Oh, and by the way, Trinity Park DOES allow archery!
It's a great park in a great area and I think it will
be our best bet in the long run.

Respectfully,
