[Elfsea] Fighter Practice Park question

Lady Eleanor has offered to post the crime stats. I imagine that will take
at least a couple of days to compile.

I grew up in Fort Worth as well, on the north side of town. As a child, it
was a treat to be taken over to "the rich side of town" to visit the zoo,
the botanic gardens, and the duck pond in Trinity Park. I have been there
many times since, and lived near it when I lived in the apartments that were
raized to build the new Modern Art Museum. Mayfest and Shakespeare in the
Park are held in different areas of Trinity Park, and one edge of the park
abuts Colonial Country Club.

I have never once felt uncomfortable there, have never seen any needles or
drug paraphernalia about, and am not even bothered by the "low riders" who
drive through on Sunday afternoons. After all, I grew up on the north side,
and knew lots of low riders personally.

Have you visited the park yourself, or are you just put off by a (perhaps
unfair) bad reputation? I must admit, before this discussion began, I never
knew anyone considered Trinity Park unsafe.

I just have one huge concern about Trinity Park. I grew up in Fort Worth my
whole entire life and was taught that Trinity Park was a bad place. I
refuse to take my family there due to the muggings, drug abuse, drug
selling, used needles in various place, rapes, and muders that have happened
in that park over the years. I know that the City of Fort Worth has tried
to clean up this park and may have suceeded in the last year or two, but I
still will not take my family there. Even my parent to this day, refuse to
go to that park.

If people want to change parks because of the "Rif-Raf" that hang around and
needles found in the play areas ------ please, please, please have the City
Police pull up the crime reports for those parks - before a decision is made
because we want a safer place.
