[Elfsea] Preparing for Gulf War

Laird Loganaich (Logan the smith) is going to Gulf Wars for the first time
this year, but as he's been to Pennsic, Lilies, Estrella, & etc., he could
probably offer some tips as well.  One of his favorite tips is bring 1 1/2
to 2 times as many pairs of socks as you think you will need, and pack them
2 pairs to a ziplock baggie.  Wool, if you have them, cotton if you must,
but not synthetic fibers.

Since we're on the subject of preparing for Gulf War...

Is there anyone who is going to War for the first time that would like some
suggestions on what to take to make themselves comfortable.

Remember it will rain, it will be really cold at night, it will be in the
80's, and it will be deceptively sunny and a combination of all the above.
