Please also note that the gel candles I have seen come with warnings saying that they should not be left lit for long periods of time due to the possibility of the glass containers shattering from the heat.  As with nearly anything, it is the consumer's responsibility to use products safely in the manner in which they were intended to be used.  To disregard common sense safety procedures is to make yourself a candidate for the Darwin Awards.
