The first introduction to the SCA for me was a Sunday Fighter practice at the old Arlington site. Thorgierr had been playing since early '80's up in the northwest, but not since he had relocated. I had never played. We walked up, watching a couple of heavies fighting for awhile, then sat down at a table. The first people to great us, sit down and talk to us were some ladies with strange dresses and names, Lady Dana and Bice'. They made us feel at home. The next fighter practice we attended at the park was on a week night - we were pretty much ignored except when some of the fighters took a breather, Galen, Ariklee and Stella - they were very gracious, but naturally somewhat busy with fighting. We then found out from a hand out that a meeting was being held just right behind our apartments. It turned out that those two ladies just happened to be part of that group, Dun Loch Ruadh. We were welcomed, invited to camp with them at the next event (Defender of all things!) and the rest is history.

We are very happy to have found an SCA group in Fort Worth.
