Muriella, having worked as a Red Cross disaster volunteer, i will say that you are eternally on my prayer list.  One tiny word of advice, please:
If they tell you to go, then GO!  Don't be a turkey and try to ride out a storm that has the pros worried.  Otherwise, try to enjoy your new home.  Bet you get more rainbows than we do . . . . .
