[Elfsea] Anyone know a good mechanic

She said it's electrical.....

One thing you can do, once the car is jumped and started, is let it run for
a little while. Then (if it isn't one of the new cars with computers
connected), then you can remove the negative (black) connection from the
battery. If it stops running, it's your alternator that's bad and you're
running straight off of battery juice, draining it. Also, check both
terminal connections for build-up. If' it's caked, then use a Coca Cola and
a wire brush to clean it.... also removing the terminal connections and
scraping on the inside helping to bare more metal for better conductivity.
Just make sure you wear rubber gloves.... I've had a few rashes from
cleaning up such corossion on HMV's. Additionally..... not all batteries are
maintenance-free. Check the label on yours to see if there's mention of
maintaining with water.... or if there's a comparment opening on the top.
Sometimes the cells in the batteries run dry and thus deplete your battery
power..... which your car needs in order to start. (The alternater doesn't
come into effect until after the car is started). And last thing.... if it
isn't your battery or alternator, then have the starter checked. Those are
the 3 major components in starting/running a car.

I hope this helps.... and possibly saves you a little money to boot.
