Honorable Lord Antigonus and others interested,
The following explains how to bid for an event within our Kingdom - this
includes the Kingdoms standard form.
Also, if anyone is interested, I can email both a copy of my "How to Steward
an Event" class and my copy of a "Basic Elfsea Bid". The Elfsea Bid
includes things that are specific to the Barony - such as requiring a member
of the Order of the Azure Keystone to serve as advisor to the event steward.
Also, our Seneschal - Honorable Lady Rixende - has asked His Excellency
Master Richard and I to make ourselves avaliable to anyone who has questions
about running an event or putting in a bid. Both of us are very willing to
help - so just email.
Your Servant to Command,
~Philip White
Submitting a Bid:
A bid must be sent to the local branch Seneschal as well as the Baron and
Baroness if hosted by a Barony. If you are putting in a bid for a Kingdom
Event you must also send the bid to the Crown, Coronet, and Kingdom
Seneschal. The Kingdom Seneschal Calendar Deputy will need a copy of the bid
in either case, especially the request for date on kingdom calendar form. In
certain Kingdom Events you may need to contact the Kingdom officer in charge
of that kind of event. For example, the Kingdom A&S has deputies in charge
of Kings College and Laurels Prize Tourney. You will need to coordinate
with all parties at the beginning of the bid process.
If you are not placing a bid for a calendar event, you will still need to be
warranted as a deputy seneschal and send a bid for what you plan of the
event. A calendar event only means that it will be placed onto the
Kingdom official calendar and that official business can take place, such as
reading awards into law.
Running a Known World Event or a War is a very special case and requires
more planning than presented here. If you would like advice or direction I
can offer that as well.
Send in Request for Date/Bid Kingdom Event Form:
You must also fill out the following form once you are granted the bid:
http://www.ansteorra.org/publications/forms/eventbid.pdf
Request for Date on Kingdom Calendar - or - Bid for Kingdom Event due 4
20 months before event.
This warrants you as a deputy seneschal and allows you to make contracts
(such as reserving a site) on behalf of the group. (A date on the calendar
has usually already been requested by your seneschal due 4-20 months
before event.)
