If Kanaki is anywhere around the Steppes they should seek out "Guyjin", 
yep that's his name.  Guy does the Japanese thing as well, and plays a 
quest persona, European raised in Japan as a child, now an adult seeking 
his true identity.  It sounds as if they may find a bit more in common 
than just Japanese personas.
