[Elfsea] Any heralds out there?

I would like to know when the name "Gilana" came about. I know that it is hebrew for "joy" but I don't know when it was first used and if it would be appropriate. It is pronounced with a G as in "give". I am thinking of changing my name from Giliana to Gilana if it would work. I might get less Juliana's if I do.
