I volunteered last night to help log in performers; I already know some cool
things about Excel, (but not all about it), and [downside] we are
daytripping to this event. Will there be an early early morning briefing? I
can arrange to be there for that. Thanks, Pyro

Subject: [Elfsea] Greetings all!

Greetings to the Barony of Elfsea from Jehanne d'Avignon
(Kingdom Minister of Arts & Sciences)

The deputies for Kingdom A&S (HL Catherine & Mistress Ariella) and I have
jumped onto your list for the next couple of weeks to help with
communication between us and your fine Barony.

I just saw Colette's note that site tokens are moving along for the event!
Thank you for helping our Kingdom with this wonderful competition!

Catherine and Ariella are currently receiving research papers and have
already sent some out to the Laurels to begin judging, and we know that
there are more research papers on the way. We also have an artist crafting
the pilgrim medallions for those who score a 40 or better in the
competition. In case you didn't know, each year a new pilgrim medallion is
crafted that is specific to the hosting group. This medallion will, in some
way, denote the Barony of Elfsea, along with the Arts & Sciences.

We have already started putting together the entrants' packets and are doing
some exciting additional things this year.

Included in the entrant packets along with the typical registration forms,
etc. will be an artisan survey of various things both this office and the
Laurels have been wondering about. We will also have a special entry this
year that is not part of the actual competition but a "calibration" entry.
For the past few years the Laurels have been practicing the art of judging
at our retreats, and will hopefully continue to improve this skill. This
year the A&S office is taking that same technique out to the artisans.
We're going to ask that all of the artisans that enter Kingdom Arts &
Sciences (as well as the Laurels and anyone else who is interested) will
judge this special entry item and turn in their judging sheet. We'll be
compiling the results and either present it online, or, possibly at King's
College in conjunction with the A&S office judging class.

Right now, we're waiting to find out if we can get on site Friday evening to
help train some of you who that have hopefully volunteered with Sabin and
Colette to help us with entrant registration and scoring. If we can get on
site Friday night, we might even be able to register some entries that
evening. If we can't we'll still need to meet with those of you who are
helping us out - perhaps at our hotel, or a local restaurant.

Feel free to ask us questions and we will get back to you as soon as we can.

Regards,
Jehanne
