Since you responded to me privately...

I didn't particually appreciate yout tone.

You don't need their excellancies ok to put up a web site, because if there changes can be made after it's up. No where does it say tha thte B&B have to sign off on a website. Actually that's your job as seneschal, not theirs.

The ad from the black star would be great to start with. But he didn't. That link should go up at least 2 months if not more in advance. As soon as you knew you were going to have the event it should have a web site.

I just now looked at the web site. Especially since you are using a new site, one that is dry, and very primative. (By the way why is the site dry? Collin county may be a dry county but they serve alcohol in resturants, and they allow alcohol in the indoor arena.) People, as in folks who come here from outside your group, need to know these things... You won't have many campers at this event, and I'd say that 50 percent will day trip.

This is what the web site is missing...
What is the site fee? Is there a price break for children? ( I just now found the pricing, it is in an inconvienent and not easily accessible place) What is the side board luncheon, What is the menu? How many are you going to feed? Will you provide disposable plates and such or do I need to bring feast gear. Will tables be provided or do I need to bring my own? Where will the side board be on site?
(That better be a great side board for a $10 site fee and a primiative site with no amenities at that. And considering you linked to the county web site and we all know now how much you are paying for the site it better be a terrific side board.) Are you using site water? Is it potable? Do I need to bring my own water? Are there flush toilets? Is there shower faciities? The map is hard to read on website, it should be blown up. Where are the closest hotels? Is that a pond I see in the picture? If it is there needs to be a statement concerning parents and children and no life guard. That is a hazard that needs to be addessed ASAP.

Those are pretty pictures... what is a swiss five? Will letters of intent be acceptable at the event? Who are the marshals in charge? What is a Bear Pit for archery?

All of these things should already be decided upon and in the web site at least 2 months ago.

Richard is wrong.. and he should know this.. to affectively advertise your event you have to advertise in the medium that will reach the most people with little or no cost or effort. That medium is the web.

And on the paid membership thing. I did pay my membership just before round table, I don't have my black star yet. Not everyone is a paid member. and you as the seneschal should have records of how many people arn't members at your events by looking at the sign in sheets?

By not advertising on-line can you afford to loose that revenu. Every person who walks through that gate helps your bottom line. Any one of those persons won't return if they get pissed of becasue they have a bad experience because of information they did not get before hand. Can Elfsea afford that?

Thank you for your reminder, but please be aware that the website has already been developed and is presently being reviewed by Their Excellencies, and we are well aware of the time frame and are putting every effort into making the website available asap. I will put a message out as soon as the link is active. Again, thank you so much for your reminder.
