Hello All,

Do you ever get tired of wearing the same type of
Garb?
Do you want to try something different?
Do you want something new for Warlord?

                      Why not try Japanese Garb!!

Join us at the next Elfsea A&S Night on Tuesday, May
16, at 7:30.
Mona Gerita della Mara (Gerita) is teaching a hand’s
on “get busy and make” class on Easy Japanese Garb for
Men and Women. On-lookers Welcomed.

Handouts: $1.00
Materials Needed:
4-6 yards of pre washed fabric, Sewing thread to
match, Scissors, yardstick / measuring tape, and a
sewing machine with extension cord.

Men’s Fabrics: black or grey bottoms, white or colored
top
Women’s Fabrics: scarlet bottoms, white (short) or
colored top (floor length)

Note on Fabrics: natural fiber fabrics are best.
Japanese scarlet is a red just slightly orange.

For men, you'll need to know when your garb would have
existed - the hakima changes through the Periods.
Momoyama is the Last that is entirely within our SCA
Period. If you go later than that, you'll need a piece
of washable, heavy-weight interfacing about 2 feet
long, and the whole 6 yards of black fabric.
(Don't understand, but want to learn? Come to the
class!)

Please RSVP if you plan to attend and make an outfit.
For questions regarding the outfits, contact Gerita
directly: 972-355-6713 or hpockets at verizon.net

Class will be at Siobhan’s House
8358 Big Horn Way
Fort Worth, TX 76137

Reminders:
May 30 - Artisan Display at Steeps Warlord
June 3 – Highland Games Demo – Artisan’s needed to
