[Elfsea] Mini-Tourney at Fighter Practice

Thank you to all the gentles whom graced fighter practice today.  We had 
several new-commers come and visit with us with the promise of comming to 
play in the very near future.    There were various arts & sciences 
(weaving, spinning, nall binding, knitting, bardic) being worked, heraldry, 
cooking, and hospitalering happening.  It was an amazing day to watch 
unfold.  None of this would have been possible without the each and every 
person participating.

The weather was just perfect for the 10 fighters who showed their skills on 
the field today.  Everyone whom entered the bearpit won at least one bout. 
Centurion Daire was the proud winner of the pair of demi-gauntlets from the 
Chivalric bearpit.  Master Darius and Diego are still trying to deterimine 
who gets the schlager rig.

I would like to give special thanks to Lady Asilyn for her skill on the 
grill to produce wonderful dead meat,  to those individuals who brought food 
to share, to Adelaine for list mistressing and to Diego for donating the 
prizes for the mini-tourneys. Thank you Lord Lochland,  Master Darius, and 
Master Caelin for being our list heralds and marshals.  If I have forgotten 
someone - consider yourself well thanked.

There were great discussions held that we would like to continue to hold a 
special fighter practice once a month for a populace picnic in the park 
where we may hold a special tourney, competition, or whatever the day will 
hold for us. I would like to see this rotate on the people to coordinate the 
activities.  I will be more than happy to ensure that this happens.

Master Caelin has volunteered to do the cooking for the November outing. 
Who would like to coordinate the tourney/competition for the November 
outing?
I would suggest the second Sunday of November, the 12th for our next outing.

There were some ideas batted around that maybe the fighters could find and 
bring a peer to sponsor them.  Or maybe the fighter finds sponsors and they 
get extra points by the precedence their sponsor has.  There are many great 
ideas that we can all enjoy.
