Heilsa,
I wish each member of Elfsea a good day and
a moment of your time.
I wish to Thank Lord Elfsea for making the trip
to test the Steppes fighters and their skill. I know
that each of the fighters welcome the opportunity
to test their skill against his.
And now on to what that day -
Typically Average day in July
Yes, Temperature both Morn and Night
As it should be for this Time - Hi 96F
Varying Shade as always between Sun and Cloud
Times seems to be a War over Head
Trumpet has sounded and War declared
Oh, how many does it require to take up arms?
To faced the Foe - feared and Known
All before who face such - have Fallen
All within this Kingdom
Yet the Call to Arms have gone forth again
Measure of Time - Beyond Count
As reckon by Means
Some by Hand - Others by Celestial
Heavenly Bodies indeed above
Witness this contest of Might and Will
It is neither Right nor Wrong - Just Natural
Yet it will always come - another Call to Rally
Time means nothing
The Foe, whose patience beyond of Job
For that is what it will Take
It will win no matter the number array against It
All efforts have come to naught in the past
For many have try - to end with less than desire
At best an uneasy truce
Tasks and Methods beyond Memory
Some adopted to became more
All in the Main Tapestry of Our Lives
Point that These are Standard
Again Measure by Time
Still Efforts continue to Rise Above
Seek out those that have not been Tested
Only through the Fire and Heat of the Forge
Known as Experience - later is Wisdom
To produce that which might stand before
Will Yield that which None has seen before
To confront the Foe
Reduce the Foe to once again
Which could be laughably call - Tamed
We who have endured the Yoke
Be it in the Practice Yard
Be it on Tournament Field
The Battlefield, where even
Great Warlord Murphy must bend a knee
To this Foe - though at times
Becomes Murphy greatest Ally
Fields of Labor the Foe - is felt more keening than Others
To this Might Foe - all have bend the Knee
>From the highest to lowest
They say bring forth new means
And renew the Test before One and All
As the Time moves forward
Measured by Above
Foe who owns fealty only to One
Queen of Summer - who now Rules
Who Must give away before that of
King of Winter - months away
Yes, the greatest Foe - meets defeat for short time
Is what makes us at times glad
Other times wishing it away
Foe - be thy Name, Heat!
Remember to Drink Water both before going to an event/practice
and bring enough water to sustain yourself during practice!
Next Sunday - 07-15-2007
A Bear Pit Tournament will be held
and the winner will be determine by one's skill
of arms. 4 squares will be erected and to
advance then each fighter must winner two (2)
fights within the square, before advancing to the
next level or square.
War is coming
Gothic Wars to the West
Listen for the Call
Sounding for Dogs of War

Labor Day Weekend, 2007
Please start drinking extra water several days prior to the day
of practice.
This is also true of going to an event, be it SCA related or not.
You will have a better time and enjoy yourself more
if you are hydrate before you start your activity.
Energy drinks may give you a lift, but will not carry you as far,
when compared to water and gatorade.
Remember - Pace yourself!
Everyone needs to bring water to the park. I would recommend
the following:
Please bring at least 1 gallon or more of water and gatorade
to replenish your energy levels if you are in armor and fighting.
Suggested of items you might wish to bring out:
- cold pickles
- oranges - energy bars - etc...
- Bring Chairs for you to sit upon.
- Sunscreen, a bright sun with some wind and...
- Hats
- etc...
Training involves separate levels of heavy fighting -
Basic level to "Good"
Man-At-Arms

Centurion level
