Sarah & Glen,

It's that time of year again and I've been asked to write and see if your group would be interested in coming out to the George W. Hawkes Central Library in downtown Arlington and helping us put on our 6th annual Medieval Arts Festival. Our patrons have always had a blast when the members of your barony come out to visit, and I'm hoping that this year's event will be the best yet.

If at all possible, we would still be interested in having some of the live fighting demonstrations (light, heavy, or whatever's available on the date in question) as well as the indoor exhibits of guild crafts, weaving, heraldry, arts & sciences, etc. that we've all enjoyed so much in years past.

I know you'll need to bring our request to the barony's general populace (or at least the Baron & Baroness) for a decision, but please let me know as soon as you can (either way) if you think your group will be able to work with us again this year, as we will need to narrow down a date fairly quickly, so that we can start putting together our materials to advertise it.

The best dates for us look like they would fall on a Saturday in mid-October or early-November. Would October 18th be a good date for you all? If not, then we are also looking at the possibility of November 8th or October 11th (in that order). I remember that you all (understandably) don't like putting on costumed demonstrations too close to the Halloween season, and we obviously want to have the outside activities before it gets too cold or close to Thanksgiving. Also, October is traditionally the time when Arlington high school students have their Middle Ages and Renaissance period projects due in history class, and they have gotten extra credit for attendance in the past.

Thanks very much for your time,

James Ponder
