[Elfsea] BURLESON LIBRARY DEMO

I will be there in armor, ready to fight (heavy). I believe Jaspar is
planning to attend and I think His Excellency Daire and Lord Rikr shall be
also. Rumor has it that Mistress Stella might make an appearance. Hey
Morgan, all Jonathans (there's at least 3), Richard, Gearhardt, Deitrich,
Mr. Bigglesworth, Maggie, Damon, Daniel, Ailgenon, Lochlan, Tomas, Timo,
Asoph, Drake, and everyone else.....wanna hit Jaspar? I highly recommend it!
If we can get just a few more there, it could really be quite the spectacle,
and alot of fun to boot! A close venue, just a 2 hour commitment and ya
still got most of your Saturday too. Sweet! Hope to see you all there!

If we don't get enough fighting in, we can always relocate to my place,
about 1-1/2 miles away. Oh, and if I left your name off the list of fighter
wannabes, then come on out and "remind" me. :-)

I went over to the Burleson Library yesterday afternoon to meet with Carolyn
Pennington (the former HL Mara of Rede) and to look over the demo site.  She
has been promoting this heavily at several schools in the area, to the point
of visiting them in garb and doing her own mini demos.

 

She requests as many chivalric fighters, rapier fighters, artisans, bards,
etc., who can make it to please come.  She basically asks for as much as we
can do in a two hour space.

 

The site itself is a very shaded wooded grove to the north and west (back)
side of the library.  There are some concrete tables and benches there, but
as they will be in use by another program she suggests that you might want
to bring your own chair.  The library will provide as many tables (2 ½ by 5)
as we need, and hopefully there will be a few young, strong arms to help
move them.  The entire area is floored with wood chip mulch, which is nice
and springy and felt like it would provide very good footing for fighters.

 

The best way in is to take Wilshire / Tx-174 in from I-35 and turn left on
NW Newton Drive, this will take you to the library and the parking lot in
the south side.  I suggest parking in the lot on the south side as it gives
very easy access to the grove and the back of the library.

 

The demo is from 10:00 to 12:00, the library will be open for set-up at
9:00.  I will see you all there.
