Well, another All-CON demo has come and gone, and I would like to take this opportunity to pass along the results.

>From a standpoint of the presentations/demos, I think I can state without contradiction that His Majesty's presense on Saturday with?many of our fighters was a high point. The fighting demo was presented as a sort of mini-tourney and included both styles of fighting. His Majesty's presense was heavily publicized by the convention, and as a result, the attendance at the five hour demo, while sporatic, was gratifying. HRM opened the tourney with a mini-court and closed it with another, which included his thank yous to the convention and to all those who participated. HL Suzanna and?HL Caireen contributed largesse for His Majesty to dispense.

Another highlight was our Fashions through the Middle Ages, presented on Sunday, and very ably moderated by Lady Emma. We had quite a turnout across a wide variety of periods and cultures, and even invited some of the Scarborough Faire people to join us. Mistress Willow and the Ladies Emma and Grainne also presented informative classes on life and society about which I got very good feedback, and one demo was a mini-bardic that also drew good attention.

Our booth in the vendor room was loaded with the talent and artwork of our area, with the Baronial Tablecloth being a focal point. A table of various arts and sciences drew a great deal of attention from passers by. I know that I talked myself hoarse in the three days we manned the booth, and I can only say that the approximately four pages of names that we collected of those that were interested were only a tithe of those who actually took information and stopped to ask questions. My thanks in particular go to the Hospitaler of Elfsea, Adelaide deRuthven, who dropped off sign up sheets and flyers before heading to the registration desk to be one of the convention staff. She always had time and a smile when there was something we needed or wanted done.

Now comes the difficult part: naming all those without who I could not have managed. First and foremost, I would like to thank the following: Honorable Lady Suzanna the Herbalist, who was my very able second in command, Lady Emma, Honorable Lady Donnel MacGregor, Honorable Lady Caireen, Duncan (also known as Chuck Davis), Cuilloc (known as Quill), Tristan, William Meriic, Her Excellency Francesca, and Don Alaric who were constant and reliable help. So many people participated that I hesitate to try and name them all for fear that I will leave someone out, but a special thank you goes to Her Grace Willow de Wisp, Duke Jonathan, and Lord Jonathan the Younger for their attendance on all three days, and willingness to help in every way possible.

A very special thank you must go to His Royal Majesty Aaron and his retinue that delayed their trip to Gulf Wars and came Saturday to participate. In particular, my grateful thanks go to Lady Elizabeta who organized HRM and his retinue to the point that they were actually there early and ready to go!

In closing, I must thank two people especially; our own Baroness Kathryn Cunningham for allowing me this opportunity and responsibility, and my Laurel Mistress Kalida, who (as always) made time in her own very busy schedule to encourage and support me. I hope I lived up to your expectations.

Yours in Service to the Steppes and Ansteorra,

the Honorable el-Sayyidda Saqra al-Kudsi
