[Elfsea] Highland Games

Actually, Ascelyn sent that email, not I.

Now is the time to pull together, not to point out the faults (perceived or
real) about how we have been treated or how we have not given this event the
full support the barony can give it.

If the barony has decided to not participate, so be it.

Farewell, Highland Games. It was a bonny ride while it lasted.

Ceatta,
You sent an email to the list on May 1 asking for
responses.
There were very few, and I understood that it was
determined that there was not sufficient interest
this year.
I personally will support Elfsea if she decides
to participate, but I have not enjoyed being
bounced around by the Games coordinators, and
placed in odd corners that take so much effort to
reach by the visitors. I used to be the first in,
year after year, opening the tent, getting stuff
displayed. But I do not consider the Elfsea to be
second class citizens.
I have seen our group moved from the fence line,
to the inside near the sheaf throwers (where we
were told to restrict our activity so that the
competition may gain spectators, and to restrict
our noise levels so that the pipers behind us may
play). The latest move was to the "cave" next to
the dogs where we were subjected to being on a
regular path of the service carts. No breeze
could reach us there. And the mud hole nearly got
several stuck.
