I recall a recent Defender.
It was pouring. Most of us were dry, laughing and
being social.
The poor old Blue & White was a rainstorm, under
it, as that fabric was never meant to stop water.

The great sail, displayed at Highland Games, and
at events, always attracts people.

Having less than 200 at an event; well there were
times when 200 was a big event. And all were
welcomed and enjoyed the times together.

Our events occur when the weather is fragile, and
we are not required to pay large fees for halls
that can never create the atmosphere of a
tourney. But that can only happen when we have
pavilions of some type to keep the weather at
bay.

Have we considered several mid-size instead of
one BFT? They can be set next to each other for a
gallery, yes the joining areas may be damp.

Crandall, Olde Phart

"In all life one should comfort the afflicted, but verily, also, one should
afflict the comfortable, and especially when they are comfortably,
contentedly, even happily wrong."
-John Kenneth Galbraith
